If a fertiliser company or aluminium smelting company dumps it in the ocean it’s considered toxic waste and an environmental hazard. Dump it in a lake, the same applies. Dump it in a river, creek or stream and again the EPA will have you prosecuted for environmental vandalism. However, if your government uses your tax dollars to pay for the toxic waste bi-product of these industries and adds it to our municipal water supply it is no longer considered toxic waste. It becomes a product. A product whose use is a hot topic amongst water fluoridation advocates and those in the scientific community along with the general public that wish it banned and removed from our water supply.
Don’t get me wrong. The concept of fluoridation sounds like a good idea. Add a little something to the water to help our teeth. Ask a random person in the public what their perception of water fluoridation is and you will most likely garner a response like “Well, it’s in toothpaste to help our teeth so why not add it to the water we drink to help our teeth”. Sadly that is the end of the thought process when dealing with the general public on the topic of water fluoridation.
Don’t be fooled. Let there be no misconceptions as to where this substance, that is added to our water supply, comes from. The mainstream media consistently uses the word fluoride. As does the government. You will never see them use the word Hexafluorosilicic acid. It’s quite a mouthful. And ironically that is that last place you would want to put it. Not even pharmaceutical grade fluoride is added at the water treatment plants for our consumption. One of the substances mostly used here in Australia, in particular Queensland, is Hexafluorsilicic acid. A toxic waste by product of the phosphate mining, and aluminium production industries.
Let’s take a step back for a moment and consider the actual concept of fluoridation. Why do we need it? It’s as though our governments are saying they don’t trust us to look after our own teeth so they’re going to do it for everyone. Oh, isn’t that nice? Big brother giving us one less thing to worry about. So what about the people who do look after their teeth? Do they get a choice to not drink, use and bathe in fluoridated water? Not so much. To me that is one of the real main issues that’s not being discussed which should be. The fact that you’ve had your right to choose taken away. Yes, you can buy a 4 stage reverse osmosis filter to help remove most of it among other chemicals and metals in the water. But for many this isn’t viable. Nor is buying bottled water.
At the core of this issue is tooth decay. What’s involved in tooth decay? Not many people actually know what tooth decay is, how it works or what’s involved. Most people do understand it has something to do with sugar.
Naturally occurring bacteria (like Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus, and lactobacilli) live in your mouth. Foods containing carbohydrates (starches and sugars), such as soft drink, candy, ice cream, milk, cakes, biscuits, breads, and even some fruits, vegetables and juices, are left behind in our mouth after consuming them. These bacteria feast on the meal we’ve provided them, and, like us bacteria also excrete waste products. This waste product is lactic acid. The lactic acid is then deposited on the tooth surface where it reacts with the tooth to form plaque. The tooth is slowly demineralised as a result and begins to form a cavity. So where does fluoride come into the equation? Teeth are remineralised by calcium fluoride. Not hexafluorosilicic acid, sodium fluoride or any of the other chemical concoctions that are touted as the saviour for our nations smiles.
The real issue is the overconsumption of sugar and sugary food especially processed sugars. People need to cut back on the sugar and at the very least brush, floss and even just rinse more often straight after eating. There’s no need to pay Chinese aluminium smelting companies or phosphate fertiliser producers to buy their toxic waste and add it to our water supply in a vague attempt at mass medicating the population under the guise of helping our teeth.
A medication is classified as a drug or remedy. In the case of fluoride, it is being used in our water supply not as a drug but a remedy to aid in preventing tooth decay. So in fact it is mass medication of the public whether you need it or not.
Here is a very deceptive “Fact Sheet” readily available on the Queensland Government website used to put the general public at ease about water fluoridation. Please have a look at the single page .pdf document. Now let’s analyse some of their so called “Myths about fluoride”.
- We just mentioned the Mass Medication topic so lets point out that on that sheet it simply says that “Qld Health does not consider the addition of fluoride to drinking water to be ‘mass medication’.” They just don’t consider it. Millions would. But they don’t. Comforting huh?
- It then states that it’s “…simply adjusting the level of a substance already found naturally in the water to provide a substantial public health benefit”. So am i to understand that Hexafluorosilicic acid occurs naturally in our water? Well it doesn’t. Nor does it say that they’re increasing the level. They just say adjusting.
- The page also talks about dental fluorosis. Which is caused by overconsumption of fluoride. So how is the dose of fluoride controlled per person? It isn’t. The amount of fluoride the public consumes is all over the chart.
- It also states that its a myth that infant formula contains high levels of fluoride when mixed with fluoridated water. It doesn’t mention anything about how formula fed babies are consuming over 175 times the amount of fluoride that breast fed babies consume. Yes, 175 times!
- Another concerning “myth” of theirs is that water fluoridation is bad for babies and that water fluoridation has been endorsed by the World Health Organisation, Australian Medical Association & the American Academy of Pediatrics and poses no known health risks for babies and young children. Well then, i guess if they endorse it it must be fine. But which scientific study was that based on? Oh that’s right, these organisations have never done one.
Another point worth mentioning is that the pro-fluoride advocates only seem to mention teeth as if it were the only part of the body that’s affected by fluoride. Think about this, when you have a headache and take paracetemol or ibuprofen is your head the only part of your body the drug goes to? The answer is no. So what makes you think that the fluoride you drink is only affecting your teeth? Your pineal gland and thyroid gland are both affected by the accumulative affect of fluoride substances in the body. Fluoride in toothpaste is also used as a topical treatment. Do you eat or drink toothpaste? No. In fact if you do swallow more than a pea sized amount you should be calling your country’s poison control centre and seeking medical advice. See this warning on an American toothpaste brand container.
24 independent scientific studies and counting have been done across the world recently examining the effects of fluoride on the brains of children and have astonishingly proven that fluoride consumption lowers their I.Q. There are also major concerns that infants and toddlers who are bottle fed not breast fed are consuming more than 175 times the amount of fluoride than babies who are breast fed. If that’s not shocking enough, then to learn that in Queensland there has never been a health study done on the affects of fluoride on the human body. Let alone in Australia in general by the Australian government.
The anti-fluoride community in North Queensland has been fighting a hard battle to have the substance removed from the Cairns drinking water. Recently these activists had a major win in the fight against water fluoridation. One man in particular has been spearheading this movement. Werner Schmidlin. Werner has recently released a 3 page report summarising his battle to have this poison removed from drinking water in the top end. Here’s an interesting excerpt…
As soon as I stepped outside the Council Chamber the Channel 7 TV crew approached me for an interview. I answered all the reporter’s questions and told them why I was against fluoridation. I especially stressed that this is a man-made toxic poison from the Chinese fertiliser and aluminium industries, and that we dispose of it through our drinking water system, yet the Chinese prohibit water fluoridation because of their health concerns.
After they were finished with me, they asked Bill Kilvert to talk to them. Bill said: “Werner said all that needed to be said.” But they insisted on interviewing him.
At the 6 o’clock news they showed a picture of me with my name and all I said was: “It is a man made poison and should not be disposed through our water system. “ Bill didn’t make it to the TV screen. It showed which side they are on. Then I was bailed up by Daniel Strudwick from the Cairns Post and we had a lengthy talk and he recorded all of it. The next day, in his lengthy article nothing was mentioned of what I said, but he published mainly what the proponents of fluoride said. Of course, we all know that the job of the editor is to separate the hay from the chaff and then publish the chaff. – See Werner’s Blog here.
Werner points out how the main stream media is used to manipulate public perception of this critical issue. It is abundantly clear from just reading his recollection of events in dealing with them first hand just how biased they really are. The hazards are carefully and quietly swept under the rug by the mainstream media at the behest of their “johns” – the industry lobby groups who pay the salaries of the media mouthpieces who work very hard to manage the public’s perception of water fluoridation.
Below are two documentary films well worth watching. Once you gather more information on the topic of water fluoridation you begin to question it’s validity, financial viability & above all, it’s safety. For there to be so many doubts about water fluoridation, why on Earth is it being forced on us? The next time you see a poll about water fluoridation or have the opportunity to make a difference with your vote, please take what you’ve read here today and make an informed decision. We trust now that it’ll be the right one.
